about

For the new self-titled album the Hard Candy Hearts took the idea of ‘heavy garage’ mixed it with blues in a grinder to spit out an album just as ferocity as their live performances. The “Heart’s” new record sets out to prove that there is no other band with more intensity and style.

Recording started in the summer months of southern Indiana when the sweltering heat wouldn’t let up as they would often keep the grill going in the studio to sizzling that “bacon and eggs sound” and stick it to the reel to reel. From the pavement pounding anthem of “Cemetery Man,” to the raw growling thump of “Revival (it’s all gone to hell),” The Hearts take those primal devices of rock and blues and turn it into an voodoo hymn for fans of the swampy rock dirge genre. The album will be released on Nov. 9th exclusively on the red vinyl format (the way it was meant to be heard) with a scratch off lottery ticket style digital download card included for listening convenience.

The Hard Candy Hearts have often been cited as a Danzig fronted Screamin’ Jay Hawkins tribute or a Jon Spencer and Black Keys mash-up that never becomes too predictable in the blues or rock genre. They have shared the stage in one incarnation or another with Eagles of Death Metal, Murder by Death, Thunderlip, Drop Sonic, Sex Slaves, Dead Moon, Life and Times, Electric Six and others.
